On June 12th, the CDC ended its requirement that Americans present a negative COVID-19 test in order to reenter the United States. This is an important step forward in the return to all global travel. Southeast Asia is ready to once again receive travelers and Southeast Asia Tours is ready to help! Here are the most recent COVID-19 Protocols & Entry Requirements by country:

  • Laos is open for international travel from all countries.
    Visa on Arrival and visa exemptions have been reinstated to pre-COVID-19 requirements.
    Fully vaccinated travelers must present a certificate of COVID-19 vaccination on arrival.
    Non-fully vaccinated travelers must present a negative COVID result issued within 48 hours prior to departure to Laos.
  • Singapore is open to all fully vaccinated travelers arriving from any country.
    Fully vaccinated travelers must provide proof of full vaccination. Children aged 12 and under are exempt from this requirement.
    Travelers must submit health, travel history and accommodation declarations electronically via the SG Arrival Card e-service, within 3 days prior to arrival in Singapore.

  • Thailand is open for international travel.
    As of July 1, 2022, travelers no longer need to apply for a Thailand Pass.
    Travelers to Thailand will only need to show proof of either a certificate of vaccination or a negative RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours of travel.
  • Cambodia is now open for fully vaccinated travelers from all countries.
    Visas on Arrival are now available for all international travelers arriving by air, land and sea. E-visas are available via the online portal: www.evisa.gov.kh 
    Fully vaccinated travelers must provide proof of vaccination.
    Non-vaccinated or partially vaccinated travelers are required to quarantine for 7 days on arrival at pre-booked private hotels. For anyone who doesn’t pre-book their hotel, a deposit of $2,000 on arrival is required to cover quarantine expenses.
  • Vietnam is now open for international travel from all countries.
    All travelers (fully vaccinated and non-vaccinated) no longer need to present a negative COVID-19 test upon arrival in Vietnam and are free to travel around the country without restriction.
    U.S. Passport holders can now apply for eVisas at https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/web/guest/trang-chu-ttdt.
  • Myanmar All international flights have resumed through Yangon International Airport for fully vaccinated travelers.
    There is still an entry ban for all foreign nationals through any border checkpoint between Myanmar and its neighboring countries.
    All travelers aged 6 and above must provide a printed negative COVID-19 PRC test issued no more than 72 hours prior to departure to Myanmar.
    It is required that all visitors purchase a Travel Accident Insurance Policy with COVID-19 coverage from Myanmar Insurance.
    All visitors are required to take a COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test on arrival, and must wait for the RDT Test Result (the result will be released within 1 hour).
    Travelers can continue their trip if the result is negative.
    If an individual tests positive, they will be quarantined and transferred to a designated hospital, treatment center, or hotel at their own expense.
    Visitors must fill out and submit a health declaration card to officials present at the airport upon arrival in Myanmar.
